So I didn't know what that was so I asked this one guy and he said it was like a bouncer because there are so many people that will try to get into a wedding that were not invited. So now I actually have to throw people out? Well, I wouldn't mind since I used to be a bouncer, but she isn't going to pay me and I have to learn how to tie a tie. Should I ask for some money for my services?Friend is getting married and wants me to be an Usher?
LOL, first of all, the guy who thinks there needs to be abouncer at a wedding obviously hasn't been to too many. You aren't going to have to throw someone out of the wedding, and on the very remote chance that someone did get rowdy or drunk and needed to be shown the door, you might get to utilize your former bouncer skills, but it's highly unlikely.
An usher is just the guy who escorts people to their seats prior to the ceremony. It's really just kind of a position of honor, since most people could probably find their way to a seat with or without the usher's help. The usher doesn't walk down the aisle like the other groomsmen do, but other than that, it's pretty similar. They still ahve to rent a tux that matches the other groomsmen's suits, and they sometimes end up in the wedding pictures too.Friend is getting married and wants me to be an Usher?
an usher is someone that assist the guest of the wedding to their seats and say any questions they have. they are the first impression to the guest of the type of wedding.
if you stand there like a bouncer it's not gonna make a good impression. if the wedding is by invitation only then yeah you will probably have to escort people out and if it is in a very public place you will have to kick free loaders out that want the food.
but your duty is mainly going to be assisting the guest. it's an honor to be apart of the wedding party not something to ask money for
lol...an usher is not a bouncer and you dont get paid!
An usher welcomes people to the wedding and shows them to their seats...
You do have to wear a suit though so you'd better learn to tie a tie!
:-)
Its a nice job that you do as a favour to the bride and groom.
No! An usher like helps the groom, like the best man does. You will be there to greet guests, pose in pictures and thats about it! Don't ask for money, it will be fun and i doubt youll have to throw anyone out!
No an usher is someone who shows and escorts people to their seats. Kicking people out is meant for security.
Why would you get paid for being an usher? You're another part of the wedding, escorting people to their seats, not throwing people out!
no, an usher doesnt kick people out. they only escort people to their seats. kicking people out wouldbne be your job. dont worry
