Can my partner sponser me to become a permanent resident in canada even if we're not married?

My partner and I have been together for almost a year. I am from the US and I wish to move to Canada with my partner who is a Canadian citizen. Will my partner be able to sponser me on a permanent resident application even though we aren't married?

Only serious answers please. Can my partner sponser me to become a permanent resident in canada even if we're not married?
In the states, you have not been together long enough to be considered a conjugal partner. Canada might recognize that you are, don't know. Here, you can only be sponsored by family. Best to check out Canadian laws. Also, does your state law recognize conjugal partnership. CA is one state that doesn't.Can my partner sponser me to become a permanent resident in canada even if we're not married?

You should call the Canadian Embassy nearest you and make an appointment they will tell you what he has to do.
