Do married people stay together if they both join the Air Force?

My husband and I are both joining the air force.

I need details about EVERRYTHINGGG.

Will they keep us together?

If not when can we be together?Do married people stay together if they both join the Air Force?
it depends on your Basic training %26amp; AIT schools.

YOU will be together or close to each other at your first assignmentDo married people stay together if they both join the Air Force?
The Air Force works extremely hard to keep military couples together as much as possible.

Having compatible AFSCs is a plus but if one of you has an AFSC that is only at a small number of bases, what typically happens is that you get stuck at one those bases for a long time. I had a firiend who was stationed at Langley for seven years because of her husband's AFSC. They hated Langley...they ended going to Mt Home (Idaho) and loved it.

Keep in mind that the AF radius for join spouse assignments is 50 miles so one of you could be at one base and the other at another one. You just live in the middle.

When you get a chance google AFI 36-2110, Chapter 5. That's the Air Force instruction on Join spouse assignments. After you have had a look at it, we'll talk about AF Form 1048 (Join Spouse Intent Code)
As long as you're married I don't see why not, because you both get the same house (if on a base.)

Deployments I don't think you'd be together though.
It depends on your MOS and if they need you both or not. My best friend just got to her new duty station and her husband just got his orders to another one about 500 miles away.

Good luck to you both.
Your chances are Slim to None...
These are called joint assignments and depends on your respective career fields - bear in mind - ';needs of the Air Force'; come first. You can't be in the same chain of command, so different and open career fields will help. The more specialized one of you is - the fewer bases to choose from - if you both are specific (ie: missile technician and F-22 mechanic) the greater likelihood that you could not find a base that does both missions. But, a personal specialist and a medical technician would be easier to find open slots in both fields at the same base. You would not be able to be together during basic.
That would depend on your respective jobs and whats available at your rank at any given base. Attempts are made to keep you together, but there are no guarantees. There will be plenty of occasions where you are separated...when and how long is anyone's guess. Nobody can tell you that with any certainty.
It depends on your MOS. If you are a pilot and he is working some administrative job chances are you will be slit up (up to 12 month pilot training).

You should talk to a recruiter for further information about special requests and whatnot.
