How do I change my Army Single status to Married?

Tomorrow I am doing my first swear in for the Army so I am not leaving to BCT yet. But Me and my girlfriend have been talking about marriage and since we have a daughter already (6 months old) we defiantly agree that we should. How do I change my status to married after we tie the knots?? Is it too late since I am swearing in tomorrow or Can I still do it? Do I have to wait till I get out of BCT and AIT before I change my status??How do I change my Army Single status to Married?
First, not too late ever, don't let the recruiters tell you that. It is extremely important you get married before you join. After basic, they will move you to a base who knows where, but if you are not married, they will not pay to move your stuff because you will be living in a dorm basically. Most people sign up for the military using the DEP program now, you can bow out of your contract without repercussions. Get married (elope if neccesary) and immediately go take the marriage certificate to the recruiter, he will know what to do. He can change your status within hours, don't let him tell you otherwise, it took 2 hours for my recruiter to do it. If she wants an actual wedding, put your basic on hold for a few months, it is aloud, again, don't let them tell you otherwise. I wish you luck and congrats on your baby. How do I change my Army Single status to Married?
You can do it before you go to basic by getting your recruiter to put the paperwork through. If that doesn't work, you can do it at the MEPS or once you get to your basic training base, but before going to Basic training. If you actually go all the way to your Basic training company, trying to do it once you are there will be difficult and unpleasant. You will need to present an official stamped copy of you marriage certificate, you will have to fill out a form to add her as a dependent, and you will have to fill out a request for BAH (housing allowance) too. Get this done as soon a possible, preferably by the Recruiter. After you are in she can go th th nearest army base to her and get an Army dependent's ID card, which is her key to getting army services, such as medical care.
Bring all your supporting document with you to Basic( i.e. marriage licence, birth certificate, a copy of a lease, etc). While inprocessing reception they should be able to process your paperwork to change your status. When you get to AIT start working right away to tell them that you need you family command sponsored so they will be on your PCS orders. If all else fails apply for command sponsorship when you get to your next duty station.
Wow, I kinda know how it works after you're out of AIT and BCT. But I have no clue how it would work before you leave for AIT or BCT. Another good place to post this question would be under politics and government...and then military...hopefully you will have more luck there?
First you have to get married before you can change your status.
Ask your recruiter!
tell your recruiter ASAP
